With digital transfer, this method is where the desired image or logo is printed onto a piece of transfer paper using a specialised digital printing machine. Our customers who have chosen to request digital transfer prints onto their custom t shirts enjoy the benefits associated with digital transfers as you will typically find that the digital transfer method is one of the most cost-effective options available on the market that allow us to produce spot or full colour transfers that provide amazing impact. Moreover, by choosing to opt for a digital transfer you will typically find that there is ability to reproduce the image with clear quality, even on textured fabrics which makes this method one of the most versatile. To provide more optimal visibility, digital transfer prints offer a matte finish. Typically you might find that a matte surface is less reflective and therefore the image can be made out quicker and clearer than on a shiny surface. On this note, adding to our suite of custom t shirt printing options, we offer our direct to garment, digital printing service onto your desired custom t shirt whereby the transfer of ink is directly transferred from print heads of an inkjet machine to the garment and allows for both spot colour and full colour branding. With the use of the inkjet technology, the specialised printer applies a custom design direct to the custom t shirt to execute the print of the desired image. Within this, the garment absorbs the ink directly onto the fibres which allows for a softer feel than a typical method of printing. Customers who choose to opt for direct to garment printing can benefit from the ability to print darker colours onto the garment as this option can provide a layer of white ink to be printer beneath the image, allowing for the printer image to have a better impact than other printing methods. Direct to garment printing is great for when a customer requires the custom t shirt at short notice as the ink used typically dries almost instantly and can then be shipped off to the required location, or even worn by the end user. Despite the upside of direct to garment printing, there are a few known drawbacks as this method of printing will only reproduce approximate PMS colours, which means the colours within the image might vary slightly when comparing directly to the existing image, and this might not be ideal for company logos if you require that level of consistency. If your image carries metallic silver or gold colours and replicating this is important to the overall image of your business then the direct to garment printing option will not suit as these colours cannot be reproduced with direct to garment printing. With direct to garment printing you’re typically restricted to the size of an A4 size, so if you require a print area larger than this, it is likely you might need to consider another method.

Dye sublimation printing is traditionally one of the best methods you can choose when it comes to the longevity and durability of a custom t shirt print as it allows for printing on not just custom t shirts, but pretty much just about any surface and any material you can think of, which includes mugs or key rings. This is possible with a special coating as the print can be successfully placed on just about anything including any custom t shirt design you pick out. Even though dye sublimation is one of the most durable methods of printing images onto custom t shirts, it does carry drawbacks in that you are typically limited to printing on only white polyester fabric for the print. Our customers enjoy seeing the end result of dye sublimation prints as the print bonds very tightly to the surface it is printed onto, to the point where it provides a smooth finish where you can barely feel the actual print on the custom t shirt. Because of the durability of the print associated with dry sublimation, you won’t have to fear the print on the t shirt disappearing or cracking after a few times from the custom t shirt being thrown in the washing machine. Finally, a drawback that you should consider with dye sublimation is that you are typically limited to the CMYK printing method and therefore full colour accuracy cannot be guaranteed for this method.
